Antigua (pronounced An-tee-guh) and known as Wadadli by the native population, is an island in the West Indies. It is one of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean region and the main island of the country of Antigua and Barbuda. Antigua and Barbuda became an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations on 1st November, 1981.  The island has an area of 108 square miles (280 square km).   Antigua offers its visitors 365 pristine beaches. Yes, a beach for each day of the year and a rich culture and history.
